Adding composite ceramic materials such as zirconia, silica, and silicon nitride powders during the calcination of alumina ceramics can greatly increase the hardness and strength of the ceramics. Compared with traditional ceramics, alumina ceramics have lower water absorption, lower cost, and higher brittleness.
