The main material we usually refer to as wear-resistant ceramic lining plate is aluminum oxide, with a fracture toughness of K ì C ≥ 4.8MPa • m1/2 and a bending strength of ≥ 290MPa. Compared with metal materials such as steel, its impact resistance is indeed inferior. However, through some special processes, the impact resistance of wear-resistant ceramic lining plate can be greatly improved.
1. Surface design with spherical protrusions:
The unique mechanical properties of spherical protrusions can evenly disperse the impact force on the lining plate, reducing the possibility of the lining plate being shattered by impact. It is a common method to improve the impact resistance of wear-resistant ceramic lining plates.
2. Increase the surface rubber area:
Most wear-resistant ceramic lining plates are used in combination with rubber. Ceramic has weak impact resistance, but rubber has strong impact resistance. We can fully leverage the advantages of both, using ceramic for wear resistance and rubber for impact resistance.
3. Adding other raw materials to alumina for toughening treatment:
Our company's ZTA wear-resistant ceramics have added a certain proportion of zirconia to alumina, greatly improving the impact resistance of wear-resistant ceramics.
The impact resistance of alumina wear-resistant ceramics is indeed weak, but this problem can be solved through methods such as spherical design, vulcanized rubber, and the addition of zirconia, so that the wear-resistant ceramic lining plate can adapt to most heavy wear and strong impact working conditions.
