When conducting oxidation experiments using the electric furnace heating method, there are generally two heating methods for the thermal storage ball sample. One is to place the sample in the furnace at room temperature, and then heat the sample to the predetermined temperature at a certain heating rate before holding it for a certain period of time. Another way is to heat the electric furnace to the predetermined experimental temperature, and then quickly insert the thermal storage ball sample into the furnace and keep it warm for a certain period of time.

If, during the heating process, in addition to non oxide oxidation reactions, there are other intense chemical and gas-phase reactions, different heating methods are used for the thermal storage ball sample, the experimental results will have significant differences, and even the opposite results will be obtained.

If rapid heating is used, it will generate a large amount of gas in the sample of the thermal storage ball at the moment of being put into the furnace, which will affect the experimental results. If the thermal storage ball sample is preheated before the oxidation experiment, although there may be differences in the oxidation experiment results between the two heating methods, they should have the same trend of change.
